Learn how to access the Compass Mental Health & Prevention Lesson List

Compass Mental Health & Prevention is a comprehensive curriculum, equipping schools with the tools needed to promote mental well-being, prevent crises, and provide early intervention. Our comprehensive approach includes education, resources, and support for students, staff, and families, fostering a school culture that prioritizes mental health.

The Lesson List organizes lessons by grade band and topic, meeting commonly mandated mental health education topic for grades K-12.

Accessing and Using the Mental Health & Prevention Lesson List

Step 1: Login to Compass Curriculum. If you have access to multiple libraries, select the "Mental Health" tab at the top just under the welcome message on the homepage. Navigate to the right side of the screen and click “Choose resource” under Download Resources. 

Step 2: Click “2024-2025 MH&P Lesson List” to open the Compass Mental Health & Prevention Lesson List for grades K-12 in a new tab.

 Step 3: Review the introduction and topic list to understand the purpose and intent of Compass Mental Health & Prevention, including key mental health data points.

Step 4: Scroll down review the topics available for each grade band, grades K-5 and grades 6-12. A brief description of the topic and learning objective is included for a general understanding of the content. Lesson titles within each topic are listed on the following pages.

Step 5: Continue scrolling to locate a full lesson list organized by topic. Refer to the topic, grade level, and lesson title to quickly identify lessons to target specific areas of need. You can refer to the lesson list and topic descriptions when assigning the Preset Curriculum, which allows students across all grade levels to receive lessons on the same topic at the same time. If assigning lessons a-la-carte, simply copy and paste the lesson title in the Lesson Library.
