ID150 Installation and Configuration

This guide provides step-by-step instructions to install, configure, and troubleshoot the ID150 Assure ID scanner for seamless integration with the Navigate360 Visitor Management System. Follow these instructions to ensure your scanner is properly set up for efficient visitor check-ins, accurate ID scans, and secure campus access. ID Scanner Drivers & Software Install
AssureID & ID-AIDD Installation Steps
Please Note: AssureID Sentinel requires an Installation Key that must be entered by a member of the Navigate360 team.
- Leave your ID scanner unplugged and log into the computer as an Administrator
- Go to Control Panel → Programs and Features, then uninstall any previous ID scanning software (if applicable)
- Download the installation file for AssureID Sentinal and ID-AIDD using the button below:
- Open the Downloads folder and double-click on the 7zip file titled: “Install_Vx.x.xx_xx_xx_xxxx - New Installs.exe” to launch the first installation wizard
- If you have any issues opening the 7zip file, please unzip the file and then run the Setup.vbs file located inside of the Install_Vx.x.xxx folder
- Click Install Drivers to install the i-Dentify Document Reader Drivers
- Follow the prompts on the i-Dentify installation wizard before continuing
- Next, click Install AssureID to install AssureID Sentinel
- Follow the prompts in the wizard to complete the AssureID Sentinel installation
- Use the installation key (#####-#####-#####-#####-#####-2) provided by Navigate360 Tech Support
- After finishing the AssureID Sentinel installation, click the “x” in the top right of the AssureID wizard
- This will automatically launch the ID-AIDD wizard
- Follow the prompts on screen to complete the installation and click Finish
- Reopen Control Panel → Programs and Features and make sure that the below applications are showing as installed:
- AssureID Sentinel
- i-Dentify Document Ready Drivers (x64)
- ID-AIDD 1.1.0.0
- You should now see the AssureID icon showing in your System Tray (up arrow on the bottom right of the Windows Taskbar)
- Right-click on the AssureID icon and select Activate License
- Click the Activate License button in the bottom right of the License Activation popup that opens
- You should then see a Deactivate License button appear, indicating that your license has been successfully activated
- You can now plug in your ID scanner

Important: Open the Windows File Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\SchoolCheckIN to find the Result folder
- This is where ID data will be staged, before being sent to Visitor Management
- Right-click on the Result folder and select Permissions
- On the Security tab, click "Edit…" and update the Users group to have Full Control permissions
- Then click Apply and OK
Navigate360 ID Scanner App Installation Steps
- Download the installation file for the Navigate360 ID Scanner app using the button below:
- Open the Downloads folder on your computer and run the setup.exe file to launch the installation wizard
- Please install all dependency files if prompted
- After completing the installation, open the Navigate360 ID Scanner app using the shortcut that has been added to your Desktop
- Fill in the Building ID, District ID, and Station ID fields before continuing
- Your Building ID and District ID can be found on the Device Settings → ID Scanning Method page in Visitor Management
- Your Station ID should match the Serial Number on the bottom of your ID scanner
- You can now use the Minimize to System Tray button on the Navigate360 ID Scanner app to hide it from view

If you would like to have the Navigate360 ID Scanner app start with Windows automatically:
- Open the Windows Start Menu and search for the Run app
- Open the Run app and type in Shell:common startup to open the Common Startup folder
- Create a shortcut for the Navigate360 ID Scanner app on your Desktop and drag it into the Common Startup folder
Final Steps
- Now that you have the required scanning software installed, you will need to perform an initial scan to finalize the connection between AssureID, ID-AIDD, and the Navigate360 ID Scanner app
- Perform an “initial” scan by inserting a Driver's License into the scanner
- Note: The ID data from this scan will not be pushed to Visitor Management, this scan is merely forming the connection between AssureID, ID-AIDD, and the Navigate360 ID Scanner app
- All future scans will be pushed to Visitor Management

ID150 Troubleshooting
ID Scanner Troubleshooting
If your ID scanner is not pulling Driver's License data into Visitor Management, please follow the steps below to troubleshoot and resolve the issue
NOTE: This article only covers Staff-Assisted ID card scanners, such as the Acuant ID-150. If you are needing assistance troubleshooting another ID scanning method, please see our other troubleshooting guides here.
Test the Connection Between Your Scanner and Computer:
- Make sure that the scanner is plugged directly into the computer and not through a USB hub or dock.
- If your scanner was previously working on this computer, try power cycling the scanner by unplugging the USB and power cables for at least 15 seconds before reconnecting. Then log into Visitor Management and try scanning an ID.
- If issues persist, please continue to the steps below.
- Next we will check the the scanners ability to scan outside of Visitor Management, using a stand alone application included with your AssureID installation: Reveal ID.
- Open the Windows Start menu and search for/open the Reveal ID app. Ensure that your scanner is plugged into the computer.
- If the scanner is connected properly, at the bottom of the window you will see Scanners connected followed by the make/model/serial # of your scanner.
- Insert an ID into the scanner to make sure it can successfully pull the data from the ID. If successful, you will see the Driver's License data displayed in Reveal ID.
- If the scanner is not showing as connected in Reveal ID, it issue could be the USB cord or the scanner itself:
- Try unplugging the USB cord from the back of the scanner and plugging it back in to ensure proper connection.
- Try using a different USB port on the computer.
- Try using a different USB cable.
- If the scanner continues to have issues connecting to Reveal ID, please check the Printers & Scanners settings in Windows to verify that it is showing as connected. It could be that your scanner is damaged and needs to be replaced.
Verify the Required Software is Running:
- The following software applications are required and must be running on the computer in order for Visitor Management to communicate with your locally installed scanner.

AssureID:
- AssureID is a background process that can be located in the System Tray (up arrow) in the bottom right of the Taskbar.
- Right-click on the AssureID logo and select "AssureID Settings…". Navigate to the Service tab and make sure that Service Status shows it as Running. If not, click Start.
- If you do not see AssureID running in your System Tray, you can open it from the File Explorer folder: “C:\Program Files\Acuant\AssureID\bin”. Locate and open the file named: AssureTec.AssureID.Platform.SystemTray.exe.

ID-AIDD:
- ID-AIDD is a background app that can be found in the Windows Task Manager under Processes.
- If you do not see it running, you can open it from the File Explorer folder: “C:\Program Files (x86)\ID-AIDD”.

Navigate360 ID Scanner App:
- The Navigate360 ID Scanner app is a background app that can be located in the System Tray (up arrow) in the bottom right of the Taskbar.
- If the app is not showing in your System Tray or Taskbar, you should be able to launch it from the computer's Desktop.
- It is important that this app remain open, you can use the Minimize to System Tray button to hide the app from view without closing it completely.

AssureID:
- If you found that any of these applications were not running, please log into Visitor Management and try scanning an ID.
- If issues persist, please continue to the next section.
Note: You can also ensure that these applications are set to start with Windows. Open the Run app from the Start menu or by pressing the Windows key + R on your keyboard, then type in “Shell:common startup” and press Enter. If any of these applications are missing from the folder that is opened, please create shortcut for the app and place it in this folder.
