Guardians can initiate a student early check-out by scanning their government-issued ID or a mobile app generated QR code at the Self-Serve kiosk. 

To learn more about this workflow, review the below steps:

Guardian Scanning Government-Issued ID

Guardian ID Scan to initiate Student Early Check-out

  1. Guardian will select Guardian on the Self-Serve Landing Page
  2. Select Student Early Check-out
  3. Scan or Capture Government-Issued ID
    1. Note: The default scanning option (Camera or 2D Scanner) for Guardians can be set on the Self-Serve Setup page - to learn more, click here. 
  4. Select all needed students to be included in the early check-out and click Continue
  5. Select the Reason for checking out early and click Confirm and Check-Out
  6. Student(s) are now checked out early
  7. If badge printing is enabled, student/guardian will collect their badge from the Default Self-Serve Early Dismissal Slip printer, and exit the building

Staff-Assisted step to complete Student Early Check-out

  1. User will see a banner with the below verbiage informing them of the guardian initiated student early check-out. User can click the X on the banner to remove from the page.  
    1. [Student Name(s)] checked out early by [Guardian Name]. Please have the student(s) report to front office.
 
 

Guardian Mobile App Generated QR Code Scanning

Guardian QR code scan to initiate Student Early Check-out

  1. Guardian will select Guardian on the Self-Serve Landing Page
  2. Select Scan QR Code from Mobile App
    1. To learn more about how student early check-outs are scheduled in the mobile app, click here. 
  3. Scan QR Code
  4. Confirm the information matches what was set when the student early check-out was scheduled in the mobile app:
    1. Note: the Scheduled Date/Time will display as the time the QR code was scanned, even if it does not match the time set when the student early check-out was scheduled in the mobile app. 
  5. Click Confirm & Continue
  6. Student(s) are checked out early
  7. If badge printing is enabled, student/guardian will collect their badge from the Default Self-Serve Tardy Slip printer, and enter the building

Subsequent Student Early Check-outs on the Same School Day

If a student needs to check out early more than once during the same school day, a staff member will need to facilitate that process by following the steps on the Student Early Check-out - Staff Assisted workflow - click here to learn more.

 

Google Translate

Google Translate is available to assist non-English-speaking guardians checking a student out early. To use this feature, guardians can click Select Language at the bottom of the Self-Serve main page. Once they choose their preferred language,  the page will refresh and they can complete the needed steps to check their student(s) out of the building early.
